MESSIAH AND BETHLEHEM PARTNER TO “CELEBRATE THE SAVIOR” VBS - Messiah and Bethlehem are partnering to “Celebrate the Savior” with our community through VBS. Jenna Wittig Fauske, the VBS director, will be with us next Sunday sharing how you can be part of the team.  COLLECTING PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS FOR THE RESCUE MISSION IN APRIL - Among the needs at the rescue Mission are personal hygiene items: shampoo, body wash, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, razors, shave cream, aftershave, etc. May we be generous in meeting this need. You will find a collection box in the narthex.

BUILDING KEYS - Please use the sign-up sheet on the high top table in the narthex to let us know if you have keys to the building. Please list your name and check which keys you have in your possession.

MESSIAH’S RUMMAGE - Because of events already scheduled for the month of May our rummage sale has been postponed until fall.  The date in the fall will be Saturday, November 9th.  Don’t forget us as you do your spring cleaning, we will gladly it off your hands. We are excepting DVD’s, books, toys and puzzles, for all ages. Please place these gently used items in the hallway by the first classroom on the left. Thank you.

NEW PASTOR FUND - The Call Committee has started a New Pastor Fund to assist with these expenses. We ask you prayerfully consider this. If this is above and beyond your current giving, please do not redirect your existing giving towards this. You can write New Pastor Fund on an unused envelope.  Remember God in His wisdom has already selected our Pastor. 
     We would like to thank those members who have contributed to this fund. Your help is very much appreciated.

VLHS NEWS

VLHS DRAMA DEPARTMENT -  The Valley Lutheran Drama Department invites you to their spring production of “Little Women”. Showings are nightly, May 2, 3, and 4th at 7pm in the school gyn. Tickets are $7/adults, $5/students, or $24/family.

CONCORDIA VOCAL JAZZ CHOIR - VLHS is excited to host the Concordia Vocal Jazz Choir (Nebraska) on Monday, May 6 at 7pm for the first ever concert in the VL Music Room!  The jazz choir was formed in the fall of 2006 and has earned a reputation for fine singing of jazz/pop influenced choral music.  We invite you to hear this group at Valley on May 6th!

SUMMER CAMPS - Valley Lutheran summer camps return. Head to www.vlhs.com/camps to see this year’s offerings and schedule and to sign-up! Benefit Dinner – Jacob Aiden @ Grace Lutheran, Auburn - Jacob is the son of Sarah (Teacher @ Trinity, Monitor) & Chris Earle and grandson of Dale and Cheri Fish. He was born 16 weeks prematurely 11 years ago with many special needs which require daily nursing care. Jacob has outgrown his car seat and at 86 lbs. is too big to be lifted in and out of a car.  This benefit will help purchase a transport van with a lift to wheel him right into a vehicle to transport Jacob and a life outside of his bed/home. It will be held at Grace’s gym on Sunday April 28 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Spaghetti, salad, breadsticks and desserts will be served.  Adult and takeout meals are as follows: Adults - $15.00, Children - $10.00 and children under 5 – Free.  There will be a Silent Auction accompanying the dinner. GRIEF SHARE - St. Peter in Hemlock is hosting another series of GriefShare beginning June 4th. Please join us: Tuesdays, June 4 through August 27 from 10:30am to noon. Led by Deaconess Shirley. Topics include: what’s normal in grief; how to handle difficult emotions; and what to do with regrets, questions, and worries. GREAT LAKES BAY REGION LUTHER SCHOOL’S PRODUCTION - Present Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr. at Bethlehem Lutheran School.
     Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr. plays at Bethlehem Lutheran from Friday, May 10-11, at 7pm and Sunday, May 12 at 2pm. The spectacular 60– minute musical is based on Roald Dahl’s novel Matilda and adapted from the award-winning full-length musical Roald Dahl’s Matilda. It wells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her destiny.
     The LuthMusicals cast includes 26 students from eight Lutheran schools in the area. Rebecca Smith and Annelise Holcomb (Bethlehem), and Mark Brenner (Immanuel) are the production staff. You may purchase $8 tickets at the door starting at 6:30pm on May 10-11 and1:30pm on May 12.

CHICKEN DINNER TAKE-OUT - Friday, May 3rd from 11am-3pm during the M-15 Garage Sales. This will be held on Center St. in the Baptist Church/Millington Township parking lot and sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church Millington. Cost is $15.00 and you will receive 1/2 a chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll, and a bottle of water. Come and enjoy.

MOTHER’S DAY CHICKEN BBQ - St. Michael’s Church in Richville invites you to their Mother’s Day Chicken BBQ on Sunday, May 12 from 10:30 until sold out. Cost: $12.00.
